Israeli forces have intensified their assault on Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Palestinian officials say seven people have been killed by Israeli air raids that damaged homes near Nasser Hospital. There were also reports of Israeli tanks approaching the district overnight.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, reporting from southern Gaza, said there were growing fears that Nasser Hospital may soon no longer be operational due to targeted strikes by Israeli forces. 24,448 people have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since October 7th, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

The United States has re-designated Yemen’s Houthi rebels as a “global terrorist group” in response to a series of attacks in the Red Sea, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said in a statement on Wednesday. Law makers and political analysts are speaking out about the “terrorist” designation saying that the designation may blacklist the country, interrupting the flow of emergency aid and funds.

Yemen is currently going through an economic crisis, rising costs, mass displacement and hunger due to the ongoing Houthi-Saudi Arabian conflict. The re-designation may result in worsening the condition of the 18.2 million Yemenis caught in the intensifying humanitarian crisis.
