North Korea has closed its embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh this month. Henceforth, the North Korean embassy in Delhi will look after their interests in Bangladesh. This information was revealed yesterday by the sources of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The country has had an embassy in Bangladesh since 1974.

When asked about this, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said “we don’t have any notable trade relations. Mostly, we have cooperation with the UN or international organizations. So, it would not affect us in any way.” It is also notable that Bangladesh does not have an embassy in North Korea; its affairs are manage by the Bangladesh Embassy in China, for North Korea.

North Korean Ambassador Park Sung Yup left Bangladesh in the third week of November.
